L’établissement rural gallo-romain de Laschamp à Parsac (Creuse)

Abstract

The broadening of the national route 145 between Guéret and Montluçon opened up the opportunity of saving excavations of a small rural Roman settlement in the commune of Parsac (Creuse). It was possible to identify two buildings, one of them constructed on a stone foundation, and some home management annexes (wells, potter kiln,...) as well. This ensemble which function is determined uncertainly is characterized by a relatively short life span (last decades of IInd century p. C. and a beginning of IIIrd). The ensemble may be a part of the fragmented network related to communication lines. RésuméLa mise à deux fois deux voies de la RN 145 entre Guéret et Montluçon a permis la fouille de sauvetage d'un petit établissement rural gallo-romain dans la commune de Parsac (Creuse) 1. Deux bâtiments, dont un construit en dur, ont pu être identifiés, ainsi que des aménagements annexes (puits, four de potier, …). Cet ensemble, dont la fonction est mal établie, montre une durée de vie relativement courte (dernières décennies du IIe s. p. C. et les premières du siècle suivant). Il s'inscrit par ailleurs dans un réseau parcellaire en relation avec une voie de communication.
