La gestión y difusión del potencial educador del patrimonio cultural de Valparaíso y su integración educativa en el segundo ciclo de Educación Básica

Abstract

Sixteen years after the designation of "World Heritage" was granted to the city of Valparaíso, and its unique and exceptional value was revealed, it is necessary to identify how, through education, the recognition of elements that gave it such a distinction in order to promote his appreciation and protection in the citizenship. That is why the following research seeks to recognize how historical and heritage characteristics have been considered the object of teaching and learning in school classrooms. In the voice of 14 educational agents and 450 sixth-grade students from private, subsidized and public schools of the city of Valparaíso, it is known how they understand the heritage, what they know and value about the history and heritage of Valparaíso, how dialogues the official curriculum with the didactic potential of local heritage and how responsible they feel in the task of its promotion, assessment and conservation.It follows from this mixed-cut research that there is a wide and varied way of understanding what heritage is, coexisting eclectic visions in the study sample.
