“…A complementary metal oxide semiconductor sensor array is employed to detect the fluorescence collected by the diffractive microlens array, which shows promising applications in flow cytometry and fluorescence spectroscopy. In addition, many other DOEs have been applied to MNOSs with various applications, including microspectroscopy, on-chip tomography, particle tracing, manipulations, etc . …”

“…33 The used imaging system is based on the Mach−Zehnder interferometer, equipped with a digital micromirror device (DMD). 34,35 A coherent laser beam (λ = 457 nm, Cobolt Twist, Cobolt, Sweden) was split into reference and sample beams using a beam splitter. The sample beam was used to illuminate a sample through a long working distance condenser (LUMFLN60XW, Olympus, NA = 1.1); the scattered light from a sample was then collected by an objective lens (UMFLN60XW, Olympus, NA = 1.1).…”

“…Optical diffraction tomography (ODT), the quantitative refractive index imaging technique, was developed to provide three-dimensional cell structures [8][9][10][11][12] . However, the disadvantage is that the projected twodimensional images can be distorted due to internal diffraction and refraction of the object, which limits the monitoring of lively moving cells in both the short-and long-term 13 .…”

“…Conventionally, the refractive index (RI) has played an important role in the enhanced visualization of transparent living cells using phase contrast microscopy or differential interference microscopy, which could enhance contrast due to optical interferometry [4][5][6][7]. Optical diffraction tomography, the quantitative RI imaging technique, was developed to provide 3D cell structures [8][9][10][11][12]. However, the disadvantage is that the projected 2D images can be distorted due to internal diffraction and refraction of the object, which limits the monitoring of lively moving cells in both the short-and long-term [13].…”
