Laboratory Tests on Performance of Waste‐Clay‐Brick‐Powder Cement Grouting Materials for Ground Improvement in Mine Goaf

Abstract: Many waste clay bricks have been produced when brick concrete buildings are demolished; at the same time, grouting treatment in goaf ground needs lots of cement. Waste‐clay‐brick‐powder (WCBP) is proposed to replace a large part of the cement to prepare environmentally friendly slurry suitable for ground grouting in mine goaf. Laboratory tests of replacing 50–90% of cement with WCBP are carried out. Bentonite and water‐reducing agent are used to optimize the slurry based on the performance indexes of water‐sep… Show more

“…From the previous test results (References [ 37 , 38 ]), it can be seen that the change of viscosity has a great influence on the water separation rate and stone rate of the slurry. The water separation rate and stone rate of the slurry under different replacement rates are shown in Figure 10 .…”

“…The properties of waste brick powder–cement grout (WBP cement grout) and waste concrete powder–cement grout (WCP cement grout) were analyzed in [ 37 , 38 ], respectively. According to the research results in this paper, the performances of the three kinds of grout can be compared to find out their corresponding advantages, so that the most suitable grout proportion can be selected according to the requirements in practical engineering.…”

“…Currently, reinforcement is the most effective method for treating goaf areas [ 13 , 14 ]. Grouting reinforcement is a widely employed treatment measure for both domestic and international highway goaf zones [ 15 , 16 , 17 ]. It involves injecting a configured slurry material into the rock and soil of the goaf area using appropriate equipment.…”
