“…It is unknown whether HCV reinfection in patients with prior HCV infection is more likely than initial HCV infection in previously uninfected patients. In a study from Japan, measurements of serum HCV RNA (a total of 23 187 HCV RNA tests) revealed no cases of HCV reinfection among 1329 patients with cured HCV who continued regular hospital visits for more than 10 years after completing anti‐HCV therapy [33] (Table 2).
