“…All the prognostic factors for local recurrence and survival were considered, namely the lesion size (T1N0M0 according to the American Joint Committee on Cancer classification, 8 th edition), the histologic type (non-basaloid) and the absence of perineural invasion. 25,32,40 Importantly, the decision also depended on the patient's commitment to maintaining a strict clinical and radiologic surveillance.
