Soil functions as a storehouse of nutrients that are needed by plants for growth and production. Decreased soil fertility will cause a decrease in productivity due to reduced nutrients in the soil. To determine the state of nutrients, it is necessary to evaluate the status of soil fertility. This study was carried out in the Subak rice fields in Denpasar City, Bali Province, Indonesia. Denpasar City, is the capital of Bali Province which continues to grow, relying on the rice production from its rice fields. The main objective of the study was to evaluate the fertility status of soils in Subak rice fields in Denpasar City based soil chemical properties and to map their fertility status using Geographic Information System (GIS). The approach for this study included surveying and soil sample analysis. The parameters observed were soil chemical properties including: CEC, Base Saturation, C-Organic, P2O5, K2O and pH. The study delineated three categories of soil fertility status, namely high, moderate and low. The total area with high soil fertility was 1312.76 ha (63.77 %), while for the medium and low, the respective total areas were 560.83 ha (27.24 %) and 184.89 ha (8.98 %). The Subak condition with low soil fertility has deficiency in soil organic Carbon (C) content and low total Phosphorus (P). Recommendations for managing low soil fertility status are addition of organic matter and P fertilizer of 100 kgha-1. The spatial distribution of soil fertility status in Denpasar City was mapped using GIS. The distribution of fertility status in these rice fields shows that the majority of the fields classified as high fertility are located in East and South Denpasar. The different fertilization regimes followed between the Subaks were the cause of the observed different soil nutrient statuses. Therefore, it is necessary to give the same treatment in order to maintain soil fertility. Soil fertility and maintenance of agricultural land productivity were factors that supported food security in Denpasar City. This investigation scrutinized the integration of geospatial intelligence in decisionmaking related to Subak management in Tabanan Regency, Bali. Focused on ascertaining comprehensive Subak data, evaluating local government readiness for Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) implementation, and constructing a web GIS-based Subak information system, this study was underpinned by a three-pronged methodological approach. Primary data was collected via interviewing Tabanan's Office of Agriculture personnel, supplemented by an in-depth secondary data analysis. Additionally, a web GIS, using QGIS and JavaScript, was developed. Findings revealed a significant deficit in the Office's preparedness for SDI implementation in Subak management due to the unavailability of critical SDI components. Consequently, a web GIS was constructed to facilitate Subak data dissemination. Usability testing suggested this system was 'easy' to use for 42.5% of respondents, while 52.5% found it 'very easy'. This research underscores the importance of Subak data provision and its potential role in decision-making processes for Subak preservation. The study was delimited to the evaluation of SDI in Tabanan Regency, and the development of a web-based GIS was executed using the waterfall method.

<p>Hydroponics is a solution to a problem of lack of land that has an impact on cultivation of red spinach. Planting media and axes often used are rockwool and flannel. These materials have weaknesses which are expensive and difficult to find in some places. Yet, it can be overcomed by using local materials that have potentials to replace rockwool and flannel role. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the effectiveness of the use of media types and axes. The research was conducted factorially using Split Plot Design with the archetype of group plot design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 3 repeats. The first factor as the main tile is type of media consisting of three levels; M1 (rockwool), M2 (cocopeat), and M3 (charcoal husk), while the second factor as sub plots are types of axes consisting of three levels; S1 (flannel), S2 (coconut coir fiber), and S3 (banana smelter fiber). The results showed that the interaction on types of media and axes had an unreally different influence on all observational variables except root volume variable; The types of media had an unreally different response to all observational variables; The types of axes had a different response which was not noticeable in plant height, root length, and header / root ratio, but It had a noticeable different response to variables in the number of leaves, root volume, fresh weight of the plant, and dry weight of the plant, in which S1 (flannel) showed the best results.</p>
