Land use and land cover change detection using satellite remote sensing techniques in a tropical basin

Abstract: In this investigation, the land use and land cover change detection are applied on a tropical basin, 10 change detection methods have been evaluated; nine of these are classified like a methods based on pixels and the last corresponds to the classified object method. Eleven images were acquired from the Landsat satellite in the period between 1986 and 2016. The percentages of change area according to each change detection method of pre-classification were: (a) Image difference: 7%-10%, (b) Image ratioing: 0.5%… Show more

“…Under the four scenario, K$K$ parameter gives values close to values estimated for biological reactors reported by Maldonado‐Maldonado et al. (2021) and Freytez et al. (2021), indicating that with high likelihood there is a autochthonous strain able to biodegrade the OCPs in the soil matrix.…”

“…Land use and land cover in the Guacamaya basin were obtained from applying the postclassification method supported by the maximum likelihood algorithm on a Landsat 8 OLI (L‐8OLI) satellite image using the tools of ENVI V‐4.7 (License No 9F3GP‐B8TB6‐9F7MT‐FP8P4‐94W92) and ArcGIS V‐10.0 (Licence No 371058959 software (Márquez et al., 2019, 2021a). The satellite data acquisition was accomplished from the EarthExplorer web site, as a courtesy of the US Geological Survey (USGS) (USGS, 2021).…”
