Abstract:The well-preserved tephrostratigraphy stretching across the Willaumez Peninsula in West New Britain, Papua New Guinea, provides a unique opportunity to monitor landscapes of cultural exchange over a considerable period of human history, extending from the Pleistocene to the recent past.
