Abstract:Electron screening effect was studied on different hydrogen containing targets with the 7 Li, 11 B and 19 F ion beams. Results show large electron screening potentials strongly dependent on the proton number Z of the projectile. The largest ever measured screening potential with the value about a factor of 50 above the calculations from the model in adiabatic limit was observed in the graphite target containing hydrogen as an impurity.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
