“…The piezoelectric coefficient d 33 (620 pC/N) of this system sintered at above 1450 C has been reported, which is comparable to that (500-600 pC/N) of Pb(Zr, Ti)O 3 (PZT) based piezoelectric ceramics [3][4][5]. Some attempts have been made to improve the d 33 value of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics and the origin of this large piezoelectricity, such as by ion substitution, new preparation techniques, the introduction of additives and the construction of the coexistence of two or more phases [6][7][8][9][10]. Nevertheless, lowtemperature sintering and the electrical properties of BCZT-based piezoelectric ceramics are seldom reported.…”

“…DSC curve shows an onset of thermal changes at 1293°C and a sharp melting peak at 1355°C. 26,29 Equal weight fractions of BCZT and CFO were mixed and milled together initially and subjected to sintering at 1300°C. Sintering temperature of pure BCZT is ≥1450°C to achieve a density >90%, 28 whereas for pure CFO it is~1300°C to achieve density >90% of its theoretical density.…”

“…The high piezoelectric performance of BCZT is attributed to the existence of the morphotropic phase boundary point resulting in a very low energy barrier for polarization rotation and eases the rotation of ferroelectric domains. 26 Very few works has been done on the BCZT-CFO based composites 27 and magnetoelectric coupling coefficient (a ME ) has not been reported so far for particulate composites of BCZT-CFO. For an efficient strain transfer from the magnetic phase to the piezo phase it is essential to have a proper interface and the magnetic phase should have high strain sensitivity.…”

“…Since the diffuse phase transition behaviour is important for both the electrocaloric effect and the piezoelectric properties of BZT-xBCT system, it has caused more and more concerns [5,8,12]. Bai et al [8] have indicated that the EC effect and diffusion transition behaviour are influenced by the composition in lead-free BZT-xBCT ceramics, and the diffused phase transition has a significant impact on the cooling temperature range and the refrigeration capacity of this system.…”
