The Trinity River Authority of Texas (TRA) recognized the need for a comprehensive collection system sulfide and corrosion management plan to address problems with high H 2 S and interceptor corrosion on the Central Regional Wastewater System (CRWS). Grab sampling was performed to identify preliminary critical areas of concern (CAC) for more detailed sampling with OdaLog meters. Liquid-phase treatment was evaluated and field trials were performed for selected chemical treatment alternatives. A risk analysis was developed by assigning structural condition and consequence of failure ratings for each CAC. A five-year plan was developed which included a timeline for renewal for some CAC and chemical treatment on others. The corrosion management program (CMP) included recommendations for continued H 2 S monitoring, focused on CAC. The CMP also included recommendations for continued monitoring and analysis, preventative maintenance, new product testing, design standards, and program management activities.
