“…S2). Interestingly, convergence was also detected within the Parides genus, for example between Parides photinus and Parides montezuma , which reinforces the hypothesis of a Müllerian mimicry ring within the Parides genus (41). Convergence was also found between Southeast Asian species Graphium xenocles and one form of Papilio clytia , both displaying a white color with contrasting black venation and an orange dot on the hindwing.…”

“…Indeed, female-limited Batesian mimicry has indeed long been documented in Papilionidae ( 20 , 42 ), and our study recovers well-studied cases, such as the documented Batesian mimicry between Amazonian unpalatable Parides species, and their Papilio mimics—see for example, the black pattern with conspicuous red spots in the unpalatable P. photinus and its mimic P. erostratus ( 18 ) ( SI Appendix , Table S5 ). Interestingly, convergence was also detected within the genus Parides , for example, between P. photinus and Parides montezuma , supporting the hypothesis of a Müllerian mimicry ring within the genus Parides ( 43 ). Convergence was also found between the Southeast Asian species Graphium xenocles and a form of Papilio clytia , both displaying white coloration with contrasting black venation and an orange spot on the hindwing.…”

“…Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade -ICMBio Processo de Avaliação do Risco de Extinção da Fauna Brasileira História Natural Espécie migratória? Não Morais & Brown (1992), sugerem que Parides agavus é limitada a habitats úmidos e sombreados. Utiliza preferencialmente Aristholochia triagularis (Cham., 1832) (Aristolochiaceae) como planta hospedeira, onde as fêmeas colocam seus ovos.…”
