“…A different approach is to use laser driven X-ray sources, though they are typically limited to the soft X-ray energy range E < 500 eV. Their working principle is essentially that a very intense laser creates a plasma from various target materials, which then recombines under emission of X-rays, hence they are called Laser Plasma Source (LPS) or more specifically Laser Plasma X-ray Source (LPXS) [75][76][77][78][79].
