“…It has been set to 7.4 × 10 −14 Hz −1/2 at 0.18 mHz, which poses a serious challenge due to the very low frequency of interest. For comparison, the requirements of other cavities working in the low frequency range, e.g., the LRI [27,28], LISA [29] and the next generation of gravity field missions [30,31], are in the 10 −10 Hz −1/2 levels at 0.18 mHz, i.e., 1000 times less demanding.…”

“…The MARLI laser requires a low power single frequency laser to seed the laser's ring oscillator in order to maintain a stable single frequency emission. Our approach uses a micro-non-planar ring oscillator (µNPRO) that is being developing for the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) mission [57]. The µNPRO allows higher power and narrower, and much more stable linewidth than a diode seed laser in a small, efficient package.…”

“…It is not until Freitag [3] proposed the curved Nd: YAG crystal design in 1995 that the power of Nd:YAG NPRO lasers were increased to about 2 W. Nd:YAG NPRO lasers have very low power noise [4], frequency noise [5] and good spatial beam profile [6]. With these advantages Nd:YAG NPRO lasers can be used in many precision measurement fields such as gravitational wave detection, like LIGO [7], GEO600 [8], and LISA [9]. Nd:YAG NPRO lasers can also be frequency doubled to 532 nm, and used in molecular Iodine frequency stabilization, which is used for length standard traceability [10] [11].…”
