Abstract:Late Archean crustal accretion in the northwestern Slave Province is suggested to have involved approximately west-northwest -east-southeast directed horizontal compression that produced three episodes of deformation recognizable in the northwestern Anialik River igneous complex (ARIC) and Anialik River greenstone belt (ARGB). Observations show that the ARIC was probably emplaced as a series of synvolcanic sills prior to the earliest deformational event. Regional shortening produced a pervasive foliation, down… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
