“…This editorial reviews and comments on a set of prospective follow‐up studies that confirm, challenge, and expand current consensus on the course and consequences of personality pathology. As I will discuss, these clarifications and expansions are important if we were to move forward the assessment and management of personality disorder especially in later life, as discussed in one of the articles in this special issue (Bangash, 2022). To this end, this special issue of Personality and Mental Health communicates important lessons we can draw on for translational purposes, as well as for continued nosological reform.…”
