“…Kelsovia is morphologically close both to Notospirifer and Birchsella (Clarke, 1987). It differs from Notospirifer in transverse, biconvex and finely punctate; cardinal margins not denticulate; commissure gently parasulcate; cardinal extremities subangular to sub-rounded, with maximum width a little anterior to the hinge line; ventral valve sub-pyramidal, with a small beak and a high catacline interarea; interarea flat or weakly concave, the more so near the beak in some specimens; each flank of both valves with about eight low, rounded, simple plications; sulcus and fastigium shallow, smooth and flaring anteriorly; micro-ornament of small, rounded pustules and short, radially elongate grooves.…”
