Lattice with vacancies: elastic fields and effective properties in frameworks of discrete and continuum models

Abstract: Linear elastic deformation of the two-dimensional triangular lattice with multiple vacancies is considered. Closed-form analytical expressions for displacement field in the lattice with doubly periodic system of vacancies are derived. Effective elastic moduli are calculated. The results are compared with the ones obtained by molecular dynamics simulations of a lattice with random distribution of vacancies. At low vacancy concentrations, less than 4%, random and periodic distributions of vacancies produce the s… Show more

“…В точке ромба с индексами k, n заданы обобщенные энергии K k,n , U k,n . В работе [35] по-казано, что такая нумерация удобна для аналитического решения задач для треугольной решетки. Обобщенные энергии определяются из решения раз-ностных уравнений (19) и дифференциально-разностных уравнений (16), (23).…”

“…Simple lattice models can be used for the analytical investigation of the thermomechanical processes in solids at the microscale 38,[43][44][45][46] , and, in particular, in the carbon nanostructures 47,48 . One-dimensional systems due to their simplicity can be used to obtain analytical solu-tions in a closed form without loss of generality 5,39,44,49 , or to get the asymptotic description of non-stationary processes in media with complex structure [49][50][51][52][53][54] .…”
