Abstract:Background
The laminar-specific distributions of Aβ and Tau deposition in the neocortex of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) have been established. However, direct evidence about the effect of AD pathology on cortical microstructure is lacking in human studies.
Methods
We performed high-resolution T2-weighted and diffusion-weighted MRI (dMRI) on fifteen ex-vivo whole-hemisphere specimens, including eight cases with an AD pathology, three cases with primary age-related tauopathy (PART) and four healthy controls (HCs). U… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
