Layered Aeration Mixes It Up, Vertically

Abstract: This article reports on a situation at United Water New Jersey's (UWNJ) Haworth Water Treatment Plant where water quality in the Oradell Reservoir deteriorated due to runoff from surrounding developed areas and supplemental water being introduced from adjacent watersheds. This resulted in an increased rate of eutrophication of the reservoir water, along with higher turbidity, natural organic matter, and nutrient levels.
