LCPPA: Lattice‐based conditional privacy preserving authentication in vehicular communication

Abstract: Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) plays an extremely important role in intelligent transportation systems. It enables vehicles equipped with smart devices to communicate with vehicles or available road side units or infrastructure. It has been observed that the security of data and privacy of user are two key challenges for vehicular communication to enable sharing of resources among unfamiliar vehicles. The existing classical cryptography‐based schemes are not secure in the quantum computing world due to Shor'… Show more

“…For instance, in [156] the authors propose an encryption mechanism based on controlled alternate quantum walks for privacy preserving of healthcare images in IoT. Moreover, the work in [157] presents a latticebased conditional privacy preserving authentication mechanism for post-quantum vehicular communication. Adding quantum noise to protect quantum data will lead the security concept of DP towards quantum differential privacy.…”

“…There are two hard problems, a small integer solution (SIS) and inhomogeneous small integer solution (ISIS), related to q-ary lattices. The ISIS problem is more complex; solving this problem for a small solution is sufficiently difficult [27]. with integer modulo q, a real constant β and a random vector y∈Z m q find a vector x ∈ Z n \{0} such that Ax = y (mod q) and || x || < β [27].…”

“…Although the incentive mechanism has been improved a lot, users' privacy protection remains inadequate. When users submit sensing data, their sensitive or private information [21][22][23] may be leaked, including identity privacy [24], location privacy, and data privacy. Also, privacy disclosure [25] will reduce users' willingness to participate in sensing tasks.…”
