Abstract:As more universities are turning their attention to distance learning, it is time to think about the quality and quality control of teaching modes that could reach hundreds, or even thousands, of students. We discuss the diverse approaches, which vary depending not only on what is meant by quality, but also on the tools used to appraise that quality. We conclude by advocating the use of a high-quality approach to guide the entire design process for distance learning programs.
