“…Such processes might have impacted the bleaching rates of the sampled quartz sand 51 , 52 , but contamination by unbleached quartz grains coming from in situ weathered granite cobbles remains also possible. Most of the Ti-Li ages from the T3 level are comparable with the Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) age (142.5 ±9.2 ka) obtained on fluvial deposits located at 30 m RH in the Ranc Pointu 2 cave 53 , (Fig. 2 ).…”

“…Flakes were obtained using the unipolar Levallois core reduction method. The assemblage is dominated by sidescrapers (50%), mainly made of flint, with a few pieces in quartz and limestone (Moncel et al, 2014b). The different steps of the "chaîne opératoire" can be identified on site, and flakes with cortex were recovered, suggesting that knapping activities took place in the cave.…”

“…In layer c1, the presence of Dama dama could be related to a temperate climate. However, this taxon may be found in association with species from cold biotopes; therefore a tolerance to colder conditions cannot be excluded (Moncel et al, 2014b).…”
