“…However, a number of factors relating to bus drivers have also been researched. These include, among others, an exploration of the different roles played by bus drivers ( Joseph, 1992;Scheller, 1996;Thomas-Charra, 2001;Hattab, 2003), which indicate professional practices in continuous negotiation, the establishment of different innovative behaviors in the case of women bus drivers (West, 1987;Farr and Ford, 1990;Munton and West, 1995;Almudever et al, 2004), the analysis and prevention of stress in bus drivers (Aust et al, 1997;Aronsson and Risller, 1998;Kompier et al, 2000), dissatisfaction with work and its relationship with maintaining a work-life balance (Hughes and Bozionelos, 2007) and absenteeism problems in relation to the perception of inequality (Geurts et al, 1995).…”

“…However, despite the homogeneity of tasks that made it possible for people to get automatic promotion through the years, differences in status were perceptible through the ages (Henrisey, 2005). On many occasions, the more production‐oriented jobs (back office) have been in want of recognition by the company: in 1908‐1909, some agents who had been doing heavy work were on a violent strike to obtain the same treatment as other employees; in 1974, a large strike, covered by the media as part of a more general movement of labour forces in mines and heavy industry, started and diffused in sorting centres (Joseph, 1992; Mahouche, 2009). Front‐office clerks were often women who had had children early and had few or no diploma(s) (Bachrach, 1984, 1987).…”
