Le troisième terme de la comparaison : la Révolution néerlandaise entre l'américaine et la française

Abstract: After recalling the origins of the Dutch Revolution of 1782-1787, the author emphasizes the influence of the American Revolution on the « patriots » ideas and its importance as a model. In the series of Atlantic revolutions, they mainly refer to the American one. French influence becomes predominant in the second series from 1795 to 1798 without completely erasing the memory of the earlier experience from the minds of the Batavian « Federalists ».
