Biological and mycobiota characters of some medicinal plants from YemenWith 28 Twenty one different fungal species were collected and identified from the leaf surfaces and anther/pollen of the studied medicinal plants. These fungal species represent eight genera on the leaf surfaces and ten genera on the anther/ pollen, respectively. The fungal spectra on leaf surfaces of Senna italica and Acalypha fruticosa were the widest spectra, while this spectrum on the leaves of Withania somnifera was the narrowest one. On the other hand the rugulate pollen of Acalypha fruticosa had the widest spectrum of fungi, while the rugulate or micro-reticulate pollen of Senna italica had the narrowest one. Members of the fungal genera: Aspergillus, Penicillium and Fusarium were the most frequent taxa on both substratum of the studied medicinal plant species. Some fungal species were restricted to only one substratum (leaf surface or anther/pollen), some others were common.
