Abstract:Background: Left ventricular remodeling in chronic mitral regurgitation (MR) encompasses two types of myocardial fibrosis: replacement fibrosis, identified by late gadolinium enhancement (LGE), and diffuse interstitial fibrosis, assessed by pre- and postcontrast T1 mapping techniques.
