Abstract:Leishmania
are vector‐borne parasitic protozoa that cause the human tropical disease leishmaniasis. Over 30 species have been described, with 11 of these being important pathogens. The disease has three main forms: cutaneous, mucocutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis.
