Leptura aurulenta (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae), a new record of a very rare species in Russia

Abstract: The paper presents data on a new record of a very rare insect, Leptura aurulenta (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae), in the Mordovia State Nature Reserve (Russia). This is a third reliable registration of this species within Russia. It expands the range of this beetle to 600 km to the east. We have presented an original biotope description, data on distribution and biology of L. aurulenta.Key words: Coleoptera, Leptura aurulenta, Mordovia State Nature Reserve, new record IntroductionThe Mordovia State Nature Reserve i… Show more

“…However, the last 15 years have showed an ever-increasing interest in research (Egorov, Ruchin 2012;Egorov et al 2010;2020b). The studies explore separate families (Feoktistov 2008;Semenov 2015;Ruchin et al 2018;Kovalev, Egorov 2017;Mandelshtam, Egorov 2018; as well as some of the most interesting species (Egorov 2017;Egorov, Shapovalov 2017;Ruchin, Egorov 2018a;2018b;2018c;2018d;2018f;Tomaszewska et al 2018;Kazantsev et al 2019;Ruchin et al , 2019b, including those from the Red Books (Ruchin, Kurmaeva 2010;. To date, according to our data, 2,145 species from 88 Coleoptera families have been recorded from the Mordovia State Nature Reserve (Egorov et al 2020a).…”

“…Besides these groups, the Coleoptera fauna was hardly studied until the 2000s. More intensive research has been carried out using a variety of methods in the reserve over the past 12 years (Kurmaeva et al 2008, Egorov et al 2010, Feoktistov 2011, Egorov and Ruchin 2012, 2013a, 2013b, 2014, Pavlov and Ruchin 2013, Legalov et al 2014, Egorov et al 2015, Egorov 2017, Sazhnev 2017, Ruchin and Egorov 2018a, 2018d, 2018e, 2019b, Tomaszewska et al 2018, Kazantsev et al 2019, 2019c. There are published data on individual families: Carabidae (Feoktistov 2008, Staphylinidae (Semenov 2014, Kurbatov and Egorov 2014, Semenov 2015, Scydmaenidae (Kurbatov and Egorov 2014), Curculionidae (Scolytinae) (Mandelshtam and Egorov 2017.…”

“…During the last decade, we studied the biological diversity of various insect groups of the Republic of Mordovia. This allowed us to identify many rare species and make species lists of some families (Ruchin and Kurmaeva 2010;Ruchin and Artaev 2016;Semenov 2016;Ruchin and Egorov 2017a, 2017b, 2018c, 2018dRuchin and Makarkin 2017;Ruchin 2018;Ruchin and Grishutkin 2018;Ruchin and Mikhailenko 2018;Ruchin et al , 2019aRuchin et al , 2019bTomaszewska et al 2018;Ruchin and Antropov 2019). However, Diptera representatives are still underexplored group.…”
