Lessons of the Crash of 1987

Abstract: In the light of the Crash of 1987, should the regulation of financial markets be changed? Charles Seeger of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, reviews, amongst others, the Brady Commission report on the working of the American markets and concludes that little good would be done by more regulation.
