In a 1998 study, Wolach et al [14] examined neutrophil chemotaxis, bactericidal activity and superoxide anion release in cohorts of patients affected by CML, polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia, compared to a cohort of normal controls. The essential thrombocythemia population was the only one in which no disturbance of any of the functions examined was present.…”
