Leveraging First-Ever OBN in India for Reservoir Characterization and Near-Field Exploration in a Carbonate Field at Offshore Mumbai, India

Abstract

This study had been performed to map the lateral and vertical heterogeneity of carbonate reservoir, using the newly acquired Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) data. Joint PP-PS pre-stack inversion has been performed to delineate the facies distribution and associated properties such as porosity and clay volume. This study greatly enhanced the depositional understanding of the area and helped to identify the in-fill well drilling and near-field exploration opportunities and provided attributes to update the existing reservoir model.
