Rasid et al (2013) reported that bio-oil production and utilisation for power generation contribute approximately 80% of CO 2 in tonne per ha/year compared to oil palm plantation stage, palm oil mill, and transportation in a life cycle assessment, in which EFB and PKS were used in pyrolysis, but POME treatment was not included.
