Abstract:Semi‐structural bonded joints of steel components are exposed to long‐term stresses in addition to water diffusion, temperature changes and varying external forces during operation. These hygro‐thermomechanical loadings lead to successive degradation of stiffness and strength due to damage resulting from chemical aging and fatigue processes, causing failure of the bonded joint when its service life is reached. In the following contribution, a methodology is presented to predict the service life of hygro‐thermo… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
