Ligaplants -A future endeavour

Abstract

Implant dentistry has been transformed by the Introduction of periodontal tissue engineering. Based on the modality, ligaplants have been recently introduced to overcome the shortcomings of conventional implants. The majority of the studies related to the ligaplants, done on animals have shown successful results but still more achievable and practical way of procuring the periodontal ligament attached implants needs to be introduced. Also, more human studies need to be done to evaluate the successful outcome of this strategy.
