“…Similarly post polymerization functionalization of PEDOT is also a relatively less investigated concept [16], owing to the paucity of agents that can functionalize PEDOT. In this regard, here by using a photochemical agent 1-fluoro-2-nitro-4-azidobenzene (FNAB), which is typically used in biochemistry for immobilizing enzymes in polythiophenes [17,18], we functionalized the ethylenedioxy bridge through a simple reaction involving the insertion of the nitrogen of FNAB between C and H of the oxygen containing rings in PEDOT through a nitrene intermediate. The electroactivity and electrochromism of the resulting functionalized film and its non-functionalized counterpart (in both cases PEDOT was grown from the aqueous solution described above) were followed by impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry (CV) and color-bleach kinetics.…”

“…Therefore, for such assay, there is a need to activate the test zone for biomolecule binding. The test zones are activated using a photolinker, FNAB as described earlier (Naqvi et al, 2002;Nahar et al, 2001). FNAB dissolved in methanol, is loaded into the cavities of PPmTP.…”

“…Polystyrene microtiter plates (Greiner Labortechnik, Germany) were activated by FNAB as described by Nahar et al (2001). Aspergillus fumigatus antibody was obtained from the sera of patients (n ¼ 7) suffering from allergic broncho pulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) and used as positive test sera.…”

“…Since then, many derivatives are the subject of extensive investigation because of their important biological and industrial applications as photoaffinity labeling agents [6][7], cross-linking reagents in photoresists [8], the formation of conducting polymers [9], and the light induced activation of polymer surfaces [10][11]. In the other hand, it is well known that sulfonamides are widely used for therapeutic and prophylatic purpose in humans and other animals and sometime as additives in animal feed [12].…”
