The single Higgs doublet in the standard model (SM) may be the simplest way of introducing electroweak symmetry breaking, but SM extensions with more scalar doublets are not excluded. A special case of the two Higgs doublet models is the inert doublet model -a minimalistic version with interesting phenomenology. This proceeding gives an up to date review of the inert doublet model's theoretical setup, constraints, collider prospects and its dark matter phenomenology.
