Linear high‐gain bidirectional slot array fabricated by narrow bent metallic line

Abstract: A linear high-gain slot array with bidirectional broadside radiation is proposed. By utilising a novel slot-energising approach, the slot array obtains a simple and compact geometry, which could be fabricated by a narrow bent metallic line. The slot array achieves an approximately constant magnitude distribution on a long radiating aperture by adopting proper slot elements arrangement and optimising the dimensions. Thus, compared to the existing bidirectional slot arrays in the open literature, the proposed sl… Show more

“…In [14], two parasitic elements were induced adjacent to the slot in the third mode to cancel the effect of the reverse current, providing both high gain and low sidelobe level. In [15], a slot array utilizing a bent metallic line was introduced, with the G/A value significantly augmented.…”

“…As the development of the long-distance wireless communication systems (such as long-street, long bridges, tunnels, highways, and railways), bidirectional antenna array has received everincreasing attention due to its special opposite converge radiation pattern and high gain characteristics. In the past decades, a lot of researches have been done to design the bidirectional antennas [1][2][3][4][5][6]. In [1], a bidirectional end-fire antenna array with six parasitic elements is developed for coal mine or tunnel communication.…”
