“…More specifically, the term “annular atrophy of the ankles” was first used in 1970 for a 6‐year‐old child with Graves’ disease, alopecia areata, and positive antinuclear antibody titers, who developed circumferential bands of atrophy on the ankles, most frequently preceded by inflamed, tender plaques or subcutaneous nodules and fever (7). Four additional reports have appeared since then with these clinical manifestations (10–13).…”
