Lipomatosis pelvis

Abstract: Pelvic lipomatosis is a rare benign disease characterized by increased pelvic fatty tissue of unknown origin, which leads to encroachment on the pelvic organs. This can lead to symptoms due to narrowing of the bladder and in some cases also of the rectum as well as distal obstruction of the ureter. Symptomatic disease seems to occur more commonly in men with unspecific lower urinary tract symptoms, constipation and hydronephrosis.
