Liquid Chromatography of Triterpenic Resins After Derivatization With Dansyl Chloride

Abstract: & A chromatographic method using fluorescing derivatization was developed for the analysis of triterpenoids in natural resins. The separation was performed using a Luna-C 18 column, an acetonitrile-water eluant mixture, a flow-rate of 1 mL Á min À1 . The fluorescent compounds were detected at 530 nm (excitation at 347 nm). A derivatization reaction of hydroxyl groups of triterpenoids using dansyl chloride is described; this process appeared unusual and provided some novelty. The detection limits were obtained … Show more

“…For this purpose, dansyl chloride ( Figure.2) was used as a derivation agent in this thesis. (Abd El-Ghaffar et al 2011, Aksamija et al 2012, Wang et al 2007, Romero et al 2006, Higashi, and Fujii 2004 It was thought to develop a simple sensitive and reliable method of analysis for nateglinide by differentiating it with dancil chloride, validate the methods developed and apply it as a combination to the analysis of this drug in pharmaceutical preparations. A spectrofluorimetric method was developed in this direction.…”

“…The derivatization of galantamine using dansyl chloride is the basis of this new method. Because highly fluorescent derivatives with primary and secondary amines, imidazoles and phenols are formed by dansyl chloride under the used reaction conditions, which are comparatively moderate, dansyl chloride was selected as a reagent used in the derivatization . To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that galantamine has been derivatized by a dansyl chloride and determined using HPLC with a fluorescence detector.…”
