Liquid scintillation counting of 35SO42− and other ions in perchlorate digests of plant tissue

Abstract: An efficient, reliable, and economical technique is described which eliminates the problems associated with liquid scintillation counting of 35SO42−. Acid digests of plant tissue are prepared for application to either filter paper or glass fiber, which acts as a carrier in the scintillator solution. The digests are also suitable for the assay of a number of other radioactive and stable isotopes.
