Lithostratigraphy, microlithofacies, and conodont biostratigraphy and biofacies of the Wahoo Limestone (Carboniferous), eastern Sadlerochit Mountains, Northeast Brooks Range, Alaska

Abstract: The Lisburne Group (chiefly Carboniferous) is a widespread succession of platform carbonate rocks that apparently developed along a south-facing passive continental margin in northern Alaska. Marine transgressions onlapped northward across northeast Alaska allowing the Lisburne platform to extend over terrigenous deposits of the Endicott Group and local pre-Mississippian paleotopographic highs. The Wahoo Limestone is the youngest formation of the Lisburne Group in northeasternmost Alaska, ranging from latest M… Show more

“…Alba, contienen ejemplares de Lochriea commutata, G. bilineatus y Pseudognathodus homopunctatus indicativos de la Zona debilineatus, Liviense (Viseense medio). La presencia de elementos de G. praebilineatus, G. semiglaber y G. pseudosemiglaber en la muestra CPE-16 indica un intervalo bajo dentro de la Krumhardt et al (1996).…”

“…The stratigraphy of the Lisburne Group has been well studied both in the subsurface on the north slope of Alaska and in the front ranges of the northeastern Brooks Range , Krumhardt, et al, 1996. An unconformity truncates the uppermost Lisburne Group, which is overlain by the Sadlerochit Group, a clastic unit of variable composition ranging from quartz sandstone to shales and siltstones (figure 9).…”
