The striped piggy, scientifically known as Pomadasys stridens (Forsskål, 1775), belongs to the Haemulid family and is one of its five members. This particular species of fish is relatively small in size and can be found in shallow waters. It feeds on shellfish and smaller fish species (Froese & Pauly, 2018).
