Local and Global Color Histogram Feature for Color Content-Based Image Retrieval System

Abstract: Content-based image retrieval system nowadays use color histogram as a common color descriptor. We consider color as one of the important features during image representation process. Different transformations such as changing scale of image, rotating an image, and translations of image to other forms does not make any alterations to the color content of image. If we need to focus on differentiation or similarity between two images we usually deal with various color features of image. To extract color features… Show more

“…It is simple and also most commonly used in color based image retrieval. It is used to measure the distance between two objects in space [12] [36].In the Euclidean distance, Pythagorean theorem gives the distance between two points. In Cartesian coordinates, if a= (a1, a2, a3) and b= (b1, b2, b3) are two points in this Euclidean space.…”

“…give an efficient and undemanding colour similarity retrieval method (Mojsilovic, Hu, & Soljanin, 2002). Narwade and Kumar (2016) applied colour histogram colour feature method in image retrieval applications. The colour features of the reference image and images in the database were computed using the local colour features combined to represent the colour histogram.…”
