Interestingly, some investigators found that in vivo, the responses to AII in human resistance arteries, such as forearm arteries, do not exhibit rapid tachyphylaxis (24). This finding is not surprising because, in humans, some amounts of VP or NE are being continuously released to maintain homeostasis, and as shown in our study, the presence of a suboptimal response to AII alone does not prevent AII being effective when combined with either VP or NE.…”
