Localized Energy Absorbers in Hertzian Chains

Abstract: Energy absorbers and energy-harvesting devices have been under the scope of scientists and engineers for decades to fulfill specific technological needs, mainly concerned with sound and vibration absorbers, and efficient mechanical energy converters.
