Locating the probable ignition source in fire expertise

Abstract: An important aspect in elucidating the causes of fire events occurence, is the identification of the initial outbreak following on-site investigations. Based on the information resulting from the event footprint (observed thermal and dynamic effects) in correlation with the results obtained in the laboratory tests on the collected samples, as well as the possible generating scenarios of the event, the most probable sources of ignition can be identified. The research team must thoroughly analyze all elements of… Show more

“…So, in conclusions, at the end of this paper, we did go through the basics of the numerics necessary for the numerical solution of the governing flow equations and understand that the fundamental aspects of numerical discretization can be put together to form various techniques for the numerical solution of the continuity, momentum, and energy equations. We can conclude that CFD is a growth industry [4], with an unlimited number of new applications and new ideas just waiting in the future. If in the elaborate formulas after some physical experiments were enrolled many empirical factors, the field of computational simulations using CFD techniques will require an increase in these factors.…”

“…Computer software for fire modelling will also be used to test possible scenarios with geometrical modeling, combustible / flammable properties of real case elements, as well as location of the fire ignition, whereafter, dynamics and propagation directions of the simulated fire must be compliant with the case under consideration [3].…”
