“…Here we contribute to the understanding of the function of lncRNAs by describing a role for MIR31HG, which is located 400 kb upstream from the INK4A locus on chromosome 9, in OIS. Consistent with a recent report 50 , MIR31HG downregulation reduces cell growth and, intriguingly, promotes a strong senescence phenotype. Although this may seem paradoxical given the global upregulation of MIR31HG during senescence, our data demonstrates a relative nuclear depletion of MIR31HG during senescence.…”

“…These data and previous reports from other groups link MIR31HG to cancer. In lung and breast cancers MIR31HG was shown to be upregulated 50,51 , whereas in triplenegative breast cancer it appears to be downregulated due to promoter hypermethylation 34 . The mechanism for MIR31HG upregulation in breast and lung cancer remains unknown.…”

“…According to previous findings, different cancer types may have different trend to the expression of Loc554202 compared with their match normal tissues. Shi et al (2014) and Liu et al (2016) found that low Loc554202 expression was observed in normal breast and bladder tissues, while the expression in breast and bladder cancer appears to be elevated. Conversely, the levels of Loc554202 mRNA were lower in colorectal cancerous tissues relative to adjacent normal samples (Ding et al 2015).…”

“…Yang et al (2016) positive lymph nodes metastasis, and 53 of 83 cancer tissues with TNM stage III-IV. Shi et al (2014) showed that Loc554202 expression is linked with advanced pathologic stage and tumor size. Based on high-level expression profiles of Loc554202 in breast cancer and cervical cancer samples, the role of Loc554202 in cervical cancer is similar to that in the breast cancer.…”
